Calumet Specialty Products Partners recently announced plans to expand the company’s esters production facility in Louisiana, Mo., including up to $40 million in capital investments and an expected creation of 21 new jobs.

The expansion will feature a 25,000-square-foot addition to the current facility and will increase manufacturing capacity to meet growing product demand.

An independent producer of specialty hydrocarbon products, Calumet’s portfolio includes more than 3,500 products sold nationally to high-profile clients like ExxonMobil, Sherwin-Williams and L’Oréal. The Louisiana, Mo., facility primarily produces synthetic lubricants.

Over the past decade, the company has experienced rapid growth through expansions and acquisitions. The company now employs approximately 1,250 workers in 11 facilities across the United States.

The state of Missouri is assisting in Calumet’s latest expansion through a strategic package of economic incentives, which the company can redeem if it meets strict job creation and investment criteria.

"Today's announcement is just the latest victory in Missouri's resurgent manufacturing industry," said Missouri Governor Jay Nixon. "With a highly skilled workforce, competitive business climate and abundant resources, the Show-Me State is a natural choice for companies like Calumet Specialty Products Partners to invest and expand."
