NLGI, an organization for the lubricating grease industry, is pleased to announce its 2007 annual meeting will be held at The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess from June 9th through June 12th in Scottsdale, Arizona. "Grease in the Fast Lane" will be the 74th annual meeting for NLGI and the first to take place in June rather than October. The meetings focus on quality technical presentations and NLGI's unique grease education program. This is the perfect opportunity for lubricating grease users and experts to network and exchange ideas in an atmosphere conducive to further business development.

Global Perspective
Attendance is always international, and of the 25 to 30 papers presented, many are written by authors outside of the United States. The papers are generally grouped according to subject matter and general interests including sessions involving grease manufacture, marketing, technical information, product testing, environmental issues and government regulations.

Through its technical presentations, educational courses and commercial forum offerings of NLGI, the annual meeting presents many opportunities for colleagues to interact and forge new business relationships or strengthen existing ones. These sessions, which are managed by the NLGI technical committee, offer expert insight into contemporary issues affecting grease producers and end-users. The sessions are also strengthened by the international perspective of the many countries and regions represented at the meeting.

Both a Meeting and a Vacation
The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess, an AAA five-diamond resort set against the backdrop of Arizona's McDowell Mountains, boasts an award-winning spa, three award-winning restaurants, two 18-hole championship golf courses, five outdoor swimming pools and two jacuzzis. The NLGI room rate is $159.00 plus taxes. You can bring your whole family and extend the trip for an unforgettable vacation.

The conference schedule includes networking receptions, a golf outing, fitness program, fun run, breakfast, education courses, technical presentations, grease working group meeting, CLGS exam and a recognition reception. The NLGI education courses include three two-day courses:

  • Basic Grease Education

  • Advanced Grease Education

  • Application and Maintenance Grease Education

Papers are Welcome
The Certified Lubricating Grease Specialist (CLGS) exam will be given at the meeting. The certification establishes a standard, verifying that an individual possesses a defined level of expertise in the field of grease. An open call for papers is taking place during the first part of this year as an invitation to present a technical or marketing paper at the annual meeting. Anyone with a desire to share his knowledge about the grease industry is asked to contact NLGI headquarters.
