Journalist and television host Roy Firestone will deliver the keynote address at the 2010 Independent Lubricant Manufacturers Association annual meeting, October 9-12 at the Hyatt Grand Champions Resort, Villas and Spa in Indian Wells, Calif. Firestone's sports and entertainment journalism has received seven Emmy awards and seven Cable Ace awards.

Over his 30-plus-year career, Firestone has interviewed more than 5,000 people, including nearly every major sports figure. His curiosity and passion for interesting people has motivated him to interview people beyond the realm of sports and into art, music, politics and entertainment. His eclectic mix of interviewees includes seven-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong, former president Richard Nixon, legendary actor James Stewart, jazz great Miles Davis and many more. Firestone also performs his multi-media review for audiences across the country and around the world.

"Roy will be an incredibly entertaining way to start the annual meeting," said Celeste Powers, ILMA executive director.

Firestone's keynote, on Monday, October 11, will kick off the first day of sessions at the meeting. Members and guests can start planning today by visiting the ILMA annual meeting Web site, which already has hotel and sponsorship information available for the meeting. The meeting brochure and website, with complete meeting details, will be available in early July.

The Independent Lubricant Manufacturers Association (ILMA) was founded in 1948. ILMA's 263 members include independent lubricant companies that produce more than 25 percent of all lubricants and 80 percent or more of the metalworking fluids and other specialty industrial lubricants sold in the U.S., and key suppliers of raw materials and services to independent lubricant manufacturers.
