Castrol, Volvo Renew Partnership

Noria news wires

Castrol and the Volvo Car Group recently renewed their global partnership. The agreement, which covers engine oils, gear oils and greases in all new vehicles in Volvo's global manufacturing facilities, includes the supply of lubricants to Volvo dealers across the globe.

The partnership will also allow the two companies to work together on improving fuel efficiency, enabling engines to manage variations in fuel quality in different parts of the world and the implications of future mobility trends.

"It is of immense importance for us to be able to ensure that Volvo drivers all over the world are offered the right oil, so their engines can be fully protected and perform at their best," said Martin Persson, Volvo's vice president of global customer service. "We are very satisfied with the dedication, innovative spirit, engineering excellence and comprehensive support of the Castrol team, and I look forward to our continued collaboration over the coming years."

Castrol scientists and Volvo engineers worked closely on the development of Volvo's latest Drive-E engines to create bespoke engine oils, which contribute to the fuel efficiency gains Volvo is seeing in its latest lineup of hybrid, gasoline and diesel powertrains.

"We are delighted to extend our partnership with the Volvo Car Group, which is now in its 16th year," said Danny Carlisle, Castrol's vice president of strategic cooperation and global accounts. "We share many common objectives, and this agreement will allow us to jointly deliver technological innovation and real benefits to Volvo dealers and customers."
