Fuchs Opens New Lubricant Blending Plant in Australia

Noria news wires

Fuchs Petrolub recently opened a new lubricant blending plant in Beresfield, Australia, as part of the company's global strategy focused on customer proximity.

The state-of-the-art facility sits on approximately 270,000 square feet and includes a quality and research laboratory. It will serve the mining, agricultural and transportation markets in Australia and New Zealand, replacing the nearby Fuchs plant in Wickham, Newcastle, which has been in operation since 1979.

The new plant was built over 18 months and designed to meet the highest quality, safety and environmental standards. It also features a high degree of digitalization, automatic high-speed filling and corrosion-resistant piping and tanks.

In addition, solar panels have been installed that can generate up to 155 kilowatts of electricity and cover more than 30 percent of the plant's electricity requirements.

"Australia is a key market for Fuchs, which is why we have invested in the new plant in Beresfield," said Stefan Fuchs, chairman of the executive board at Fuchs Petrolub.

Headquartered in Mannheim, Germany, Fuchs is the world's largest independent lubricant manufacturer, employing more than 5,000 people worldwide at 58 operating companies.
