Axel Acquires Royal Mfg.

Noria news wires

The Axel Christiernsson Group recently announced that it has acquired Royal Mfg. Co., a U.S. supplier of lubricating greases and oils. The combined company will operate as Axel Royal, a subsidiary of Axel Americas.

"I am pleased to see Royal becoming a part of the Axel Group and believe our companies will work very well together, building on the knowledge and skills that prevail on both sides," said Bill Mallory, Royal's president.

With facilities in Oklahoma and Texas, Royal has provided high-performance oils and greases to its clients since 1914. The company's Brownsville base oil terminal is not included in this transaction.

Axel is the largest independent manufacturer of lubricating greases in the European market, with manufacturing facilities in Sweden, the Netherlands and France. Axel Americas has also held a significant position in the U.S. market since 2011. The addition of Royal is expected to increase Axel Americas' capacity and extend its reach in the United States.

"Our combined customer offering will increase significantly with the capabilities of three production sites and the talents of the larger workforce coming together," said Tom Schroeder, president of Axel Americas. "I, with the help of our dedicated employees, look forward to leading this new organization and making it a leading lubricating grease company in the U.S., much like Axel is in Europe."
