Klüber Unveils New Grease for Food, Pharmaceutical Processing

Noria news wires

Klϋber Lubrication recently unveiled a new synthetic grease for the food and pharmaceutical industries. Klüberfood NH1 74-401 is a long-life, high-temperature grease designed for incidental food contact in food and pharmaceutical processing. The grease combines the performance and load-carrying capacity of a synthetic base oil with the versatility of a urea thickener.

Suitable for long lubrication intervals in a variety of applications, it can provide a wide service temperature range and be applied in rolling bearings up to 320 degrees F (160 degrees C), and even up to 356 degrees F (180 degrees C) in short-term conditions with the appropriate relubrication intervals.

Klüberfood NH1 74-401 can be employed in a number of food-processing sectors, such as bakery, pasta, beverage, meat and fish, tobacco, cereals, grains and oils. Applications include drive roller bearings in ovens and proofers, conveyors and motor bearings, roller bearings in packaging and labeling machines, and camshafts and linear guides with sliding movements.

Klϋber also introduced two new rolling and plain bearing greases. Isoflex Topas NB 52 and 152 are based on a synthetic hydrocarbon oil and a barium complex soap. The greases are intended for rolling and plain bearings that are subject to high speeds and loads, as well as low temperatures.

The special barium soap thickener offers good load-carrying capacity along with resistance to water and ambient media. Commonly used in vibratory motors in shale shakers and as an option for centrifuges, both greases can protect against corrosion, oxidation and aging.
