The ISO Subcommittee on Condition Monitoring and Diagnostics of Machines (TC108/SC5) is developing a standard on used oil analysis. The working group on tribology-based condition monitoring is presently drafting the proposed document and looking for international industry feedback on the general direction to be taken. Several ICML volunteers are taking part in this effort along with delegates from countries participating in TC108/SC5/WG4.

The tables present a proposed list of subjects to be covered in the upcoming standard, divided into four different areas: Program Strategy and Design, Implementation, Results Use and Management, and Program Management. WG4 will meet in late November to work on this standard.

As an international council, ICML welcomes feedback from industry practitioners worldwide. It aims to achieve consensus representation of global, feasible opinions on what upcoming international standards in the subject should contain.
