Klüber Lubrication recently introduced a new high-performance automotive grease for ball joints and a low-friction grease for constant-velocity (CV) joints.

Klüberlub HE 71-281 incorporates low-friction additives to minimize friction resistance and boost CV joint efficiency. Because of the reduced friction, the grease can lower the temperature in the joint.

The high thermal resistance of synthetic components in the formulation enables the joint to operate reliably at elevated temperatures, achieving short-term peaks up to 160 degrees C. Compatible with normal CV joint boot elastomers, the grease also offers improved wear behavior to ensure long component life.

The new Klübersynth J 87-20002 KR is a ball-joint grease that uses high-viscosity silicone oil and polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) as a base oil. It is designed to provide ultra-low static and dynamic torques in both low-temperature and high-temperature environments. This low torque helps to minimize stick-slip tendency and micro-friction noise for a smoother driving experience.

The grease’s friction properties, adhesion and spreadability at sliding friction parts are intended to provide wear protection, while its water resistance and oxidation stability help to prevent corrosion.

With the exception of silicone rubber, Klübersynth J 87-20002 KR is compatible with a wide range of boot materials, including elastomers and plastics. Its operating temperature ranges from minus 50 to 180 degrees C to enable reliable ball-joint performance in any climate.
