Benz recently introduced a new semi-synthetic cutting fluid for a wide range of metal cutting and grinding operations. Benz Kool 1300 is intended to offer faster cutting times, improved surface finishes and higher tolerances, as well as to extend tool life by 20 to 50 percent.

The lubricant is low foaming, especially in high-pressure applications, and can help to reduce fluid consumption due to lower chip carry-off. It also has the ability to increase shop productivity by as much as 30 to 40 percent as a result of decreased cycle times.

Along with a better hole-diameter tolerance, the fluid features emulsion stability and low odor, and can operate at a lower concentration. The lubricant’s multi-metal capability also helps to eliminate changeover activities, while its higher lubricity reduces power consumption.

In addition, Benz Kool 1300 does not contain chlorine, dicyclohexylamine (DCHA), secondary amines or formaldehyde-releasing biocide. It can be used for machining aluminum and ferrous metals in a variety of applications.

Headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Benz is a lubricant manufacturer and supplier that has been developing industrial fluids and lubrication technology for more than 120 years.
