Klüber Lubrication recently announced that it has acquired Traxit International, a lubricant manufacturer based in Schwelm, Germany. The purchase agreement includes all of Traxit’s assets and international subsidiaries.

Since 1881, Traxit has provided the wire-drawing industry with a complete range of lubricants to suit all types of wire and applications. The company has grown to be one of the world’s largest wire-drawing lubricant producers, with its lubricants sold across the globe. Traxit currently has manufacturing sites in Germany, China and the United States, along with subsidiaries, agents or representatives in more than 150 countries.

“High-end products and services for the manufacturing of wires are a perfect addition to our existing portfolio of advanced specialty lubricants improving operational efficiency and protecting customer assets,” said Klüber’s Claus Langgartner. “With Traxit in its portfolio, Klüber Lubrication will enlarge its footprint in specialty lubricants and will develop it strategically. The company will fit in very well at Klüber Lubrication as similar success factors and mechanisms to the markets of our existing businesses apply.”

Traxit Group will become another division of the Klüber Lubrication Group, although Traxit will continue to be responsible for the operative management of its businesses. The company’s headquarters will remain in Schwelm.
