CITGO’s LubeAlert oil analysis maximizes fleet maintenance

Maintaining a fleet is more than just looking at numbers and tasks; it’s about understanding information and how to best maximize time, money and equipment. CITGO’s HD LubeAlert oil analysis program gives fleet managers multiple information resources at their fingertips to help deliver the best performance possible from their power units.

With more than 1,700 fleets enrolled and 160,00 power units in the data base, LubeAlert has oil analysis history on most makes and models of diesels in service today. As the heart of a good fleet maintenance program, LubeAlert can also manage grease and DOT scheduled maintenance, along with missed equipment maintenance lists and abnormal outcomes reports to help identify potential equipment failures. This historical trend data can project potential wear and tear on different types of engines and users can track a serviced vehicle and get a maintenance “check up” report, fax or a phone call from CITGO in the event of a problem.

“Oil analysis is more than a tool to help optimize oil drain intervals,” said Mark Betner, product manager, heavy duty lubricants, CITGO Lubricants. “Historical oil data can help support engine warranties and identify problems before equipment is severely damaged.”

The LubeAlert interface allows fleets to enroll units online, and chart, graph and download data on the unit’s performance, including:

·        Enroll units online

·        See abnormal and critical analyses

·        Graph data to see trends

·        Download date for further analysis

·        See missed equipment lists

·        Add and edit data on specific power units, all online

·        Print bar code labels for sample kits and order kits online

“LubeAlert can bring together oil service intervals and other service needs to optimize manpower and equipment downtime,” said Betner. “Maintenance strategies can be shared to maximize equipment use and part inventories.”

The maintenance report card generates an oil analysis summary of the fleet and can even compare performance from one group of equipment to another or one job site to another. The frequency and level of coolant leaks, air induction dirt, fuel dilution, soot, wear metals and oil oxidation all factor into the equation for extending optimized drain intervals.
