Klϋber Lubrication recently introduced a new series of hydro lubricants that incorporate water as a functional constituent, thus making use of the positive effects of water. The high-performance Klübersustain GW 0-460 for industrial gears is the first product in the new hydro lubricant series.

Developed especially for high-speed spur, bevel and planetary gears, Klübersustain GW 0-460 features a low foaming tendency which is intended to ensure uninterrupted operation of components. The viscosity-temperature behavior supports the formation of a lubricant film across the whole service temperature range. Its electric conductivity also protects components against electro-corrosion.

"Major advantages of our pioneering lubricant concept are the optimized friction behavior as well as the excellent cooling characteristics that contribute to lower temperatures in gears and rolling bearings," said Matthias Pfadt, manager of application engineering at Klüber. "The new gear lubricant based on water and a synthetic base oil offers a new performance level which meets the growing requirements and increasing power density of modern gears. It also makes a major contribution to energy efficiency."

Klüber plans to continue working with its partners from different industry sectors on additional hydro lubricants for various applications and components.
